for Students for Faculty

Site License is a formal contract with a software company which allows the university to purchase software licenses in bulk. Kwansei Gakuin Educational Foundation and Kwansei Gakuin University establish license agreements with a range of vendors. Those affiliated with Kwansei Gakuin can use such licenses for education or research, based on each use condition of the agreements. See below for details on the use of them.

  • Site License does not include user's guide for its software.
  • Get (or purchase) user's guide on your own, if necessary.
  • These contracts are basically renewed on an annual basis.
  • The policy regarding contractual coverage could be changed from year to year; See and check this page on a regular basis.

Use Site License after confirming the details such as basic precautions for each license.

Visit one of the following PC supportdesk to borrow physical medias Nishinomiya Uegahara Campus Lecture Hall 4 - PC Support Center, Media and Research Facilities Building - PC Support Center 2, Kobe Sanda Campus Building Ⅵ (second floor) - The PC support counter, Nishinomiya Seiwa Campus Building 6 (fourth floor) - Information Systems Office .

  • It is available to faculty (except Visiting, Exchange, and Interchange Faculty), and staff (except Temporary Staff) of the university and and the senior and junior high school.
  • If a computer is purchased with the university funds and assigned with an identification number (BIHIN BANGOU or YOUHIN BANGOU), fill in a form with that number. If a computer is purchased with the university funds but not registered yet, fill in a form with the fiscal year and type of funds. (e.g. research funds in 2016)
  • The product is available as long as they are enrolled in the university. When you leave the university, uninstall the installed software.
  • When a product is upgraded to a newer version, faculty and staff can update to the version as long as they are in the university.
  • After installing the software, it must be activated. See the user's guide attached to the media for details.

Personally-owned devices In this context, "personally owned devices" refer to devices owned by students, faculty or staff AND used for education and research in the university. It is not allowed to install the university license software on devices owned by their families or friends.

(This software may be installed on computers used by faculty (except visiting, exchange, and interchange faculty), and staff (except temporary staff). The computers include those purchased with the university or the senior and junior high school.)

Computers purchased with Kwansei Gakuin funds or research funds In this context, the "Kwansei Gakuin" refers to Kwansei Gakuin Educational Foundation.

The procedure is different when installing on an office PC(A note PC with a 7-character hostname beginning with J). Please contact the Help Desk for Staff.

To install the software on a personally-owned  devices, In this context, "personally owned devices" refer to devices owned by students, faculty or staff AND used for education and research in the university. It is not allowed to install the university license software on devices owned by their families or friends., use the following the named user license. You can also purchase the academic version sold at the University Co-op.

  • The product is available as long as they are enrolled in the university. When you leave the university, uninstall the installed software immediately.
  • The license period is per fiscal year. When the fiscal year changes, you will need to obtain a new license key.
  • When a product is upgraded to a newer version, faculty and staff can update to the version as long as they are in the university.
  • Maple (in-campus use license for faculty and staff) is available at the PC Support Desk as before.

Supplemental Information

When you borrow CD or other media, submit "Application for Borrowing Software Installation Media" for each software with your faculty or staff ID card. Lending period is basically for a week.
