Application-to-Setup Process for Shared-Use Devices (wired or wireless connection)

1. How to apply

Application for campus network connection
(Device for sharing use)

Before submitting your application, please check the following:

  • Whether your device can connect to KGU-WLAN (If it cannot, you will not be able to submit the application.)
  • The system user ID of the person performing the domain-joining work (Only required if the device will be joined to the domain.)
2. Application acceptance notice

You will receive a Notice of Authorization the following work day, (as long as you emailed the completed application before 4:50 PM). You will receive this authorization notice at the same email address you used to send the application.

If there is a need to ask you for the questions, it might take more than one work day to get back to you.

3. Setting up the device

How to Ensure a Stable Connection to KGU-WLAN

 (※Settings are required for Windows only.)

If you need help setting up your device or connecting to the Network, you can find help at your campus'sICT Support Desk.

How to apply for change

If any changes occur in the contents of your application, please follow the procedures and settings described below.

Change Request Required Procedures / Settings
Dispose of a previously approved device No disposal application is required.
Replace the currently used device with another device No change application is required.
Please configure the previously approved fixed IP address and host name on the new device and use it accordingly.
Add a new device Please submit a new application using the Campus Network Connection Application (Loaned Device) form.
Change or add the domain‑joining operator Please submit a request via the Campus Network Connection Application (Non‑standard) form.
Change the device administrator (applicant)

Please submit a new application using the Campus Network Connection Application (Loaned Device) form.

  • Full-time Faculty (University)
    Please submit a new application using the Campus Network Connection Application (Loaned Device) form.
  •  Full-time Faculty (Elementary, Junior High, Senior High School)
    No application is required.
    (This is because the responsibility for device management lies with the school, not with the individual applicant.)
  • Full-time Staff
    If the managing department for the device purchased by your division has not changed, no application is required.
    (This is because the responsibility for device management lies with the applicant’s department, not the individual.)

Joining the Kwansei Domain

When connecting a device used by multiple users to the loaned‑device network (wired or wireless), it is mandatory to join the device to the KWANSEI domain so that the individual users of the device can be identified.
